Fire Scroll

The poem is one of a series about the catastrophic fires driven by climate change that have become a global phenomenon.

The poem was printed digitally on a 80” x 19” silk panel, which was then hand-dyed. The burned and painted cedar branches were from one of the trees in my garden. The second 72” x 13.5” panel is hand-dyed silk that was gathered and sewn to resemble fire. Habotai silk is extremely light and moves with the slightest shift of air. 2020, 89”h x 40”w x 6”d. Offset of two scrolls: 1.825”
